Blake Ross
Co-Founder of Firefox
Blake Ross is a software developer best known for cofounding the Mozilla Firefox, as well as the Spread Firefox project which propelled it to one of the top ten brands in the world and nearly a half-billion downloads worldwide. In 2005, he was nominated for Wired magazine's top Rave Award, Renegade of the Year, opposite Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Jon Stewart, and featured on its cover. He was also a part of Rolling Stone magazine's 2005 hot list.
Ross was born in Miami, Florida. He began programming while still in middle school and began contributing to Netscape very soon after it was open-sourced. He worked as an intern at Netscape at the age of 14, while attending high school. Later that year, he enrolled at Stanford University, where he is now on a leave of absence. In 2005, he founded a company called Parakey that was purchased by Facebook in 2007.
